Recently, Kings of Salvage,http://www.kingsofsalvage.com/, was given a big break. The Holiday Inn located in Highland Beach, Fl. was kind enough to hire us for our services.
The call came at 8:15 AM Friday morning form the general manager. He was asking us to come and see what we might be able to salvage/get rid of for them. We stopped by the property around 10:30. Needless to say i knew right away we had our work cut out for us. The GM led us to 3 shipping crates, each 40' x 8', full of furniture and merchandise. King and full size beds, dressers, mirrors, table lamps, floor lamps, sleeper sofas, sitting tables, office chairs, writer desks, and some various sized artwork. All in all it was 35 hotel rooms top to bottom. Checkout some pics of the items we were going to move ;)
The kicker.........it all had to be off the property no later than 9 AM Monday morning!!! We immediately went into scramble mode to see what could be done. I let the manager know we needed a few hours to get things in motion and see if it was even possible. After a million phone calls (OK, probably 75-100) we were able to secure two 55 ft. big rig trucks and a crew for Saturday around 12:30. The process was going to take us about 4-5 hrs start to finish being that we had to pull all of the items out of the container, organize them for proper packing, then pack the entire two trucks top to bottom and front to back. Well, time wasn't on our side as the trucks were delayed by 2 hours so we weren't able to start until closer to 2:45. Soooooooooo, we set out on our journey. One by one, we pulled the pieces out and placed them in their appropriate areas slowly stockpiling our goods working diligently into the night. Check it out...
All in all, it took 4 hrs and 39 minutes from start to finish to complete the entire project and send the goods on their way. We will be doing more rooms for this property just after the new year along with The Marriott Delray beach on A1A and Atlantic Ave. Special thanks to all involved in the project, it was truly a great feat, day, and adventure!!!
